Valve Announces New Steam Deck OLED Screen
On November 9, 2023, Valve announced a new version of the Steam Deck with an OLED screen, improved battery life, and more. The new Steam Deck OLED will be available in three storage configurations: 512GB, 1TB, and a limited edition 1TB model with a translucent case. All three models will feature a larger 7.4-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR support.
In addition to the new display, it also features several other improvements, including:
- A more efficient AMD APU
- A bigger battery
- Wifi 6E support
- A lighter and cooler design
Valve claims it offers up to 30-50% longer battery life than the original Steam Deck. This is thanks to the new OLED display, which draws less power than the LCD in the original model. The new AMD APU is also more efficient, which helps to extend battery life even further.
